Former owner's name (Phineas L. Chesley) in fountain pen on both front endpapers, with the date 1839. Some foxing to most pages (worst on endpapers, progressively less as you go into the book). Rear free endpaper is creased. Covers are soiled with some surface paper loss, and the spine edges have been reinforced with brown archival tape. Cover edges are rubbed to boards.
