More info

This is a rare original of this publication, not a reprint. 17pp plus 2 b/w plates (which are numbered III and IV, as they are copies from another publication that were used for this one). Charts. Graphs.

Faint "Dudley Observatory, Albany, N.Y." stamp at top of front cover, with two date stamps Sep. 29, 1922 beneath. Top spine is missing a tiny piece of surface paper, and the top front text block corner has been very lightly bumped. This is an historically important work by Hubble, who proposed that the "nebulae" were galaxies of stars outside our Milky Way, as we now know them to be, and changed our perception of the universe forever.
